Eaton Corporation, Truck Components Operation, Clutch Division, Concord North Carolina, has an opening for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. The facility has 100 employees and manages several product lines including: Assembly of Heavy Duty and Light/Medium Duty Clutches for OEMs as well Aftermarket parts distribution.

This position is responsible for providing engineering support to functions in our manufacturing area. Its purpose is to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction through continuous improvement, aimed at improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing responsiveness.

Duties include: identifying and implementing programs/projects that support the business plan; investigating equipment, process and tool/fixture alternatives; preparing appropriation justifications; performing statistical run-offs, implements equipment, and evaluating results; identifying and implementing process, product, and quality improvements that result in significant cost savings; performing industrial engineering techniques to determine work standards, layouts, and bottlenecks; assuming project leadership responsibilities for programs/projects that may have plant and division personnel involved; leading efforts to implement ELSS specifically setup reduction and standardized work; maintaining and continually improving 5S in the office and assists in department/team 5S efforts; assisting in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement throughout the engineering and operations team.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree (engineering discipline preferred) plus 1 to 3 years experience. Other requirements include: specific knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, knowledge of statistical methods used to analyze process variations, good knowledge of computer processing software specifically Microsoft project, Auto cad, and Microsoft office, and coordinating skills. Minitab experience is a plus.
