Parker Appointed to Baldridge Board
We are happy to report that one of our local members, Clyde H. Parker has been selected to serve on the Malcolm Baldridge Board of Examiners.  The esteemed Baldridge award is given annually to organizations exhibiting excellence in quality improvement programs. A seasoned manufacturing executive, Clyde is identified as a “Guiding Star” by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He is recognized world-wide for innovative applications of Lean Six Sigma and has been invited many times into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to consult with manufacturing executives. He will serve as Chairman for the 2009 Asian Six-Sigma Summit in Singapore. Clyde is also active in our local SME chapter.

Recent Events

Rich Scott Mar 19th
Another of our members and past Chair of former SME Chapter 304, Rich Scott gave an interesting talk called “Strategies for Weathering the Economic Downturn” at NCA&T University’s Smith Hall on March 19th. A few of the senior chapter members and several student Chapter 044 members at NCA&T enjoyed an engaging discussion with Rich about offshore business opportunities in non-core engineering functions. Rich is a Sr Sales Engineer for Offshore Business Development at TechniGraphics tgstech.com.  Thanks Rich, for your time and your insights!
